Digital photography has made everyone comfortable with perfection. You take 3,000 photos in a day, delete the duplicates, fix the exposures, and hide the misses. It’s safe.
This project is the opposite of that.
The 36 Frames Project is exactly what it sounds like: one full roll of 35mm film, from the first frame to the last shutter click. No curation, no hiding behind my favorite digital files, and no dropping the misses into the bin.
If a frame is blurry, you see it. If the exposure is slightly off because the sun cut through the taproom windows faster than I could dial in the settings, it stays. If I caught an older couple dancing with a slice of pepperoni pizza exactly when the light hit the lens—that’s in here too.
It takes a specific kind of trust to shoot weddings this way. You have to slow down, rely completely on your instincts, and accept that real life doesn't come with an undo button.
This is Roll 01 from our first wedding of the year. 36 unedited, unfiltered moments exactly as they came out of the scanner.
